A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with 6mm Moonstone and Red Creek Jasper beads, along with an Imperial Jasper guru bead and a luxurious silky rose pink tassel. Moonstone is the stone of new beginnings, inner growth and strength. It soothes emotional instability and stress, and stabilizes emotions, providing calmness. Moonstone enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business matters. Jasper is the supreme nurturer stone. The mala is strung on nylon thread and hand-knotted between each bead.
